Antivirus For USB Drive (Flash Drives, Digital Camera, etc)

Nowadays, USB Drives are easily infected by viruses, and sometimes people are worried if they put in their friend's flash drive into their computer. Now, we can use "USB Drive Antivirus." It is an antivirus that automatically scan a USB Drives right when they were inserted. This antivirus can handle most of known USB virus until now and doesn't need virus signature / database udpates.

PlayStation Portable vs Nintendo DS

In the past few years, there a hot handheld gaming platform war between Nintendo DS (NDS) and Sony Playstation Portabe (PSP). From my view, both of them is actually nice but have totally opposite personality. PSP is more on graphical and story while NDS is more on creativity and gameplay. If you like story or graphic better than gameplay, PSP is undefeatable, but if you like changes and creativity, NDS is the king, only in NDS you can speak to command your pet, using touch screen to cook, but you have to keep with the so-so graphic. NDS also have cheaper price than PSP. NDS price is between 350-450 RM and PSP is double the price (around 700 to 900 RM)

Avast ! 4.8

Avast! is one of freeware antivirus (you can order the better one but you'll pay) that I like. I like it because I can edit the skin and graphical interface of the program. It also have a built-in tool like web-guard, anti-phising and much more. The search engine is also satisfactory and the virus database is updated regularly. The only downfall of this antivirus is that it causes windows startup (especially Vista) to be much slower.

Best Antivirus

Surfing internet nowadays is becoming more dangerous, it's because of a lot of viruses and spywares spread over the net. That's exactly why internet and home users should have a antivirus to keep their computers clean. But the problem is which antivirus is good ? There are a lot of antivirus (up to 100), some of them is the well-known and made by big companies such as Norton and McAfee that is costly and there are some that is made by individual or small group of people that is cheap or even free such as Avast! , AVG, and Kaspersky. Of course, well-known anitivirus is usually best but there's more to it. I prefer using antivirus that is safe, small footprint and updated. I personally dislikes expensive antivirus and all-in-one security suite like norton that is a combined firewall, antivirus, anti-hack, anti-spyware, etc that causes your computer to be unstable and fragile. If I can find details, I'll post those antivirus that I like on my next post.

OpenOffice is a word processing software based on Java platform, some says that open office can rival with Microsoft office, OpenOffice is popular because it's open source and free. I try OpenOffice 2.0 before and it's excellent and can keep its ground with MS Office. This is quite a accomplishment for a free software.

Windows Live Messenger 9

Microsoft just released Windows Live Messenger BETA version and only invites around 500 people to test it out. Its new features are quite cool, especially the signature sound that enable you to choose a song that will be heard by your friends when you sign in. The other cool part is that you can use animated picture as your display picture.

Video Project... Finished

Finally, after some hardwork, the video clip finished and submited, I've gone so much trouble and do the video last minute on the day before submission date... And end up doing it until morning and I feel like zombie in class, the bad thing is.. I slept on the afternoon to evening... and end up cannot sleep again... so the next day... I also end up like a zombie and then sleep again at afternoon and wake up at evening.. and same thing happened... I cannot close my eyes and today I feel so sleepy will go to sleep as soon as I get back home

Mac OS 10.5.2 = worst apple OS

From my opinion, it's hard to see apple to make this "vista like" operating system that have too many bugs and very slow. It made me think that apple is just mocking vista by making this buggy OS and is goind to normal at next version...

Say goodbye to boot up screen ~~

Until now, we have been suffering of the black dos boot screen before the PC and the operating system is useable, but we may say goodbye to those annoying boot screen thanks to HP. HP is developing the fourth (latest) type of memory circuit than fast enough to make your PC never have to boot. Windows XP SP 3

After Vista SP 1, microsoft launces Service Pack for XP, at the source above, it shows that SP 3 does not really increase performance and not worthy of updating, compared to Windows Vista SP 1 which is really useful for fixing numerous bug and errors. Even though Vista SP 1 did not reach the consumer expectation, I think Vista SP 1 is quite good considering the number of bugs and error in Vista itself. Unlike XP SP 3 which offers minimal update and performance boost since XP SP 2 is good enough.
