In the past few years, there a hot handheld gaming platform war between Nintendo DS (NDS) and Sony Playstation Portabe (PSP). From my view, both of them is actually nice but have totally opposite personality. PSP is more on graphical and story while NDS is more on creativity and gameplay. If you like story or graphic better than gameplay, PSP is undefeatable, but if you like changes and creativity, NDS is the king, only in NDS you can speak to command your pet, using touch screen to cook, but you have to keep with the so-so graphic. NDS also have cheaper price than PSP. NDS price is between 350-450 RM and PSP is double the price (around 700 to 900 RM)

Avast! is one of freeware antivirus (you can order the better one but you'll pay) that I like. I like it because I can edit the skin and graphical interface of the program. It also have a built-in tool like web-guard, anti-phising and much more. The search engine is also satisfactory and the virus database is updated regularly. The only downfall of this antivirus is that it causes windows startup (especially Vista) to be much slower.

Surfing internet nowadays is becoming more dangerous, it's because of a lot of viruses and spywares spread over the net. That's exactly why internet and home users should have a antivirus to keep their computers clean. But the problem is which antivirus is good ? There are a lot of antivirus (up to 100), some of them is the well-known and made by big companies such as Norton and McAfee that is costly and there are some that is made by individual or small group of people that is cheap or even free such as Avast! , AVG, and Kaspersky. Of course, well-known anitivirus is usually best but there's more to it. I prefer using antivirus that is safe, small footprint and updated. I personally dislikes expensive antivirus and all-in-one security suite like norton that is a combined firewall, antivirus, anti-hack, anti-spyware, etc that causes your computer to be unstable and fragile. If I can find details, I'll post those antivirus that I like on my next post.

After Vista SP 1, microsoft launces Service Pack for XP, at the source above, it shows that SP 3 does not really increase performance and not worthy of updating, compared to Windows Vista SP 1 which is really useful for fixing numerous bug and errors. Even though Vista SP 1 did not reach the consumer expectation, I think Vista SP 1 is quite good considering the number of bugs and error in Vista itself. Unlike XP SP 3 which offers minimal update and performance boost since XP SP 2 is good enough.

From my opinion, this case will be brought sooner or later and now it's really come true, since Microsoft's selfishness of cutting Windows XP and change it to "low class" Vista which is waaay worse than XP and consumer demand that favors XP more than Vista. Microsoft should keep up Windows XP until the Vista matter is really solve and can bring better operating system than XP. It's really funny to see Microsoft replacing XP as a very good OS with an awfully flawed Vista.

From my point of view: Assasin Creed is a failure, it's not as fun as Prince of Persia, it only boast its new graphical and makes low and medium spec computers cry like hell... Its sound also not as good as other similar games and a LOT of bugs in the PC version... yeah... a LOT... for example, in my laptop, in the beginning, it lags and a lot of texture errors, my laptop uses 2 gb of RAM and NVidia 8600 GT which is pass the minimum requirement and on my friends PC, it only have sounds with a black screen... So, this game is really not worth your money and effort and it's better to wait for future fixes and patch or waiting for it to be cheaper is also a very good choice...

My thought of MS Office 2007

Microsoft Ofice 2007 is very interesting in term of beautiful user interface and easy to use. But for office 2003 users, thing has become more difficult to use. The toolbars are harder to use. It takes a lot of time to load also. Finally, it does not bundle web designer (a.k.a MS Frontpage in office 2003). We need to buy additional softwares like MS Sharepoint Designer or Microsoft Expression which is very expensive (plus MS office itself... the price.. T_T). So in my opinion, it is a nonsense to use MS office 2007, there's a lot of good word processing software. One the best word proccesing out there is OpenOffice 2.0 (freee!!) that is said to be a rival of MS Office (ridiculously expensive)...

Cabal is a new MMORPG. It was reted very good on some website, but from my point of view, it is not too good, because you cannot jump, swim, and space limited. But the cool part is you can use bike and a lot of cool armors. Until now cabal has reached open beta state, and it's free, until now that is. The graphic is actually not very nice compared to what they claim, the effect is very excellent the character and world details is not as much compared to other MMORPG released on similar date. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Call of Duty 4 is the next generation of the famous First Person Shooter game Call of Duty by Activision. The previous COD was a complete success and COD4 : Modern Warfare is the best looking and most addictive. Its single player mode is very good and exciting, but it is too short, you can finish it in around 6 hours if really into it.

The graphic is awesome and very detailed thus can make your PC cry... ^^. The sound and Voice Actor also very good and the gameplay is excellent.

Because of this, only a few website rate this game below 9, but most websites give COD4 above 9 and even 10 out of 10 a.k.a PERFECT. From my opinion, Activision doesn't focus too much on the single player mode. The only thing that is good in single player mode and at the same time, the only thing that can make you bored, it is the overly deadly AI, the AI is very good... or too good if you play higher difficulty that can make you bored of losing ^^.

Enough with the single player mode, the multiplayer mode is very interesting, you can level up your rank and get more skill and customize your own class. The skill that you learn is very useful such as when you die, you can still fire your weapon until you satisfied... then die or use your last breath to throw grenade to your enemy, call aircraft reinforcement, etc. The multiplayer mode require a lot of teamwork to win. You cannot use rambo style like you do in Counter Strike, you will very unlikely to win against 2 enemies alone. You need good formation and strategy in order to win.

Hellgate London is a Multi genre games that is created by Flagship Studios on October 30, 2007. You can be a gunner (First person or Third person view) , Warrior (Action RPG) and much other unique classes like necromancer. It is actually not very good since it was boring for normal players and it's too exaggerating to say that this is a Diablo game with better graphic. Even Diablo 2 is better than this game from the RPG element.

In my opinion, and most people in the world. Firefox OWNS IE. Yap, Firefox is far too good for IE 8 to even smell its feet. It mainly because IE has too many bugs. Many people have problems with IE, like slow connection, cannot use (after launching IE, suddenly IE stop responding and closed itself), but mostly, for me, this is my own assumption that the reason that IE is much worse than Firefox is mainly because IE has to much patches. If you use Windows Update, you will often see "Security Update for Internet Explorer" or something like that. It occurs quite a number of times. Maybe around a hundred of them. New MMORPG Games Perfect World

Perfect World is a MMORPG game that just arrived in Malaysia last November. Now, it's still in open beta state and will be in full state in March or April 2008. There are a lot of good thing in Perfect World, you can customize your character in a very wide range, from jaw size, nose size, nose curve, eye size, eye colour, ear size, height, breast size (for female only ^^) and much more customization available.

The graphic is from my opinion, the best for this year's MMORPG. It has really smooth character, nice world details and very nice attacking animations and effects.

Perfect also have coupling system where you can ride together in a horse, or fly together arm to arm (woohoooo).

The new Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT is out to some companies. And now the benchmarking test is announced. We don't need to see the exact number of all the test, I'll just summarize it to one simple sentence. 9600 GT IS NEARLY EQUAL AS 8800 ULTRA. Now, we can safely assume that the next generation of 9600 based architecture will absolutely better in term of performance than 8800 Ultra that is considered the best gaming card. Microsoft is already popular in term of monopolizing and trying to be the best and the only one in this world. So it's not too surprising if Microsoft want to monopolize search engine also. Even though we are fond of search engine. The company looks this search engine in a different manner, they see search engines as the best way to advertise and gain profits from those advertisements.

For the purpose to compete with Google and Yahoo, Microsoft plans to buy Yahoo thus eliminating Yahoo as Microsoft's competitor and use Yahoo as median to compete in equal ground with Google. PC Game Crysis

Crysis (PC) is a first person shooter game released by Crytek. Crysis is a must have PC game, this game has the best graphical interface, and has one of the best AI ever created. Personally, I think this game is not a normal shooting game (which is usually barbarian style), in Crysis, the AI is very intelligent and it's almost impossible to defeat them face to face except you really an expert in shooting game. Even you are an expert, this game gives you very little amount of ammunitions. So basically, this game is a stealth first person shooting style. You can also activate one of 4 ability of the main character's costume, they are Strength, Speed, Shield and Stealth. With these criteria, Crysis has became the best game of 2007. So my conclusion is, now we have reason to upgrade our computer, since Crysis require a high end class computer to run, then go your local store if you don't have Crysis yet, and buy it.

Infulences of Web 2.0

Web 2.0 makes the viewer participate in the site's community thus sharing information and communicate with each other. This kind of communication will most probably also influencing each other, either by someone's point of view or the web itself. The example of this is the Bernard Weber's New Seven Wonder of the World polling. You can see the full details at http://www.new7wonders.com . This is a web 2.0 based voting to decide the new 7 wonders of the world. And the results have come out on 7th of July 2007. Even though it is not official, this event influences government of the related countries, society (so that people know the new good places to visit) and it also influences the world of business by raising the tourism rate in country which it's building or place was selected by the event to be the new wonders or just the candidate. BUT, the most the was influenced by this event is Bernard Weber himself, who is the President of this event, he makes a lot of money by making "more than one vote" available by purchasing a "certificate" for $2 each. And what's more, he makes this event without any contact with UNESCO that is the official organization for this kind of thing. UNESCO states that this new 7 wonder is unofficial and cannot be considered true. As you can see... this is an example of what web 2.0 capable of. And not just that... maybe with my blog... some of you are influenced and begin to have a little disbelief to the new 7 wonder and maybe begin to hate Bernard Weber ^^

Communication Technology can be a good learning source, but as the computer advancement progress rapidly, it seems that Communication Technology is not a good learning source anymore, because nowadays, with so many people using the internet and can post anything, information are not trustable anymore, like false statement, spyware, and virus are common now in internet.

In the old time, computer and internet is a very good source of learning, although not as detailed as now. For example, 9 or 10 years ago, when windows 95 is the king of operating system, games are not so interesting, people mainly uses computers to work or researching through internet, that time, internet can be a reliable and safe source of gaining information.

Nowadays, Communication Technology is considered as distraction to education. Since students can bring laptop to class and play games in class. It's not anyone fault since now people making Computer focusing on the distraction side, like improved processor, graphic card, etc makes game more interesting and nice too see. Playing games are of course far more interesting than study. If only there's no interesting game, then maybe students can focus more on their study and use their computer for learning reason.
